July 2013 – MacDermid Offshore Solutions Australia has been selected to provide WECS Fluid, a newly designed water-based hydraulic fluid, to support Carnegie Wave Energy’s (Carnegie) Perth Wave Energy Project (PWEP), Western Australia. The project utilises the patented CETO wave energy technology to convert the ocean’s waves into zero-emissions electricity and desalinated water. MacDermid will support the project from the technical support centre in Western Australia and the fluid manufacturing from its Melbourne facility.
“Carnegie has developed a technology, which converts the ocean’s energy into clean electricity and desalinated water through hydraulic means”, stated Simon McManus, Vice-President of Research and Development for MacDermid. “We are very fortunate to be in a position to design and produce an environmentally friendly hydraulic fluid that will be incorporated in a system focused on a renewable energy source.”
